The vision and roadmap for account-to-account (A2A) payments
Integral to Australia's economic future
Every day, Australian consumers, businesses and government agencies rely on A2A payments
As Australia’s economy becomes more digital, A2A payments must continue to evolve to meet changing technologies, expectations and user needs. A shared vision for the future of A2A payments is an important step in guiding that evolution.

The vision for A2A payments
The vision for A2A payments in Australia sets out long-term goals for Australia’s A2A payments system. It aims to ensure A2A payments remain safe, reliable, affordable, easy to use and inclusive.
The vision was developed by the Account-to-Account Payments Roundtable through consultation with industry, businesses, government and end users.
Next steps
The A2A payments vision provides a foundation for the development of an industry roadmap. The A2A payments roadmap will outline key deliverables and milestones to help achieve the vision.
The industry roadmap will be developed during 2026 through extensive consultation with industry participants, end-users and other stakeholders.
